Happy Monday Folks!
Full days learning new homesteading skills interspaced with much yoga. This is how I would sum up our week. The 30-Day Yoga Challenge is well underway and miraculously I haven’t missed a day! During each trek to the studio I am filled with gratitude and humility.
At home, soaps were made in the kitchen and beer is being produced in the basement. My friend, and soap-maker expert, Eli stopped by to teach me all about soaps. We spent time talking about the chemistry, the ingredients, and creating 2 different recipes of artisanal soaps. They are presently curing and if the result is as luxurious as we anticipate, they will be part of the Olivia Canela line in the near future. Eli and I also had time to make a homemade version of Vick’s Vapo Rub as requested by a friend of ours. The smell of peppermint and eucalyptus was enough to kill any germ that might have been lurking in the household.
Chris on the other hand, was in the basement making our first batch of beer. He is not very confident that the experiment is going well but I am hopeful that in a few weeks we will be cheering the end of my yoga challenge with pints of home-grown beer.
All these efforts deserve indulging breakfasts and we feast in apple-blueberries Dutch babies, huevos rancheros, and hearty barley-oat porridge with apples, blueberries, figs, almond milk and a drizzle of coconut oil.
Finally, I wanted to thank you for all the kind and supportive words related to my previous post. I started this first week of work with a much lighter heart than first anticipated and YOU are responsible for such. Thanks for reading!

Have a wonderful week! Make it count.
