It started with a harmless exchange between Chris and I. Our small businesses had fortunately reached a stage where a bigger space was needed. Unfortunately, this meant further time spent outside of our home plus the expense of renting such space(s). Neither of us wanted that. Could we find a spot where we could grow our family and businesses in unison? At the end of the summer we started scouring the net. We visited many houses. I was sure it would take us about a year to find a place that would have all the features we needed and I was actually fine with that. I loved our home and was not ready to move.
You know the end of the story. We found our new home. Closing date was just a few weeks before we left to Portugal for Christmas. It was frantic and overwhelming but we are so happy and grateful to have found the home we were searching. Snippets of the space are on Instagram with the hashtag #ourmagicnook. It’s Our Magic Nook for the way this place happened for us, and for the endeavours that we are already scheming (hello outstanding SeaBerry Studios workshops!).
When we got our first home the housewarming gift was an orange tree. This time, family portraits by Peggy Tremblett were ready to be picked up on our closing date. They are already on our wall. Fabulous new art transforming this house into a home and appropriately near the orange tree.
