It has been a while but this Saturday you can find me at the St. John’s Farmers’ Market with Olivia Canela skincare goodies! This is the first market I am participating since June but I have a very good excuse: inspired by Toronto’s skincare course, our face and body moisturizers got a makeover and an enhanced formulation! Lipeva and Toranja are now in blue glass pump bottles. This format will improve shelf-life by preventing the cream to be exposed to air and will avert leakage that could happen with the old jar format (better for shipping and when traveling). Further, these 2 products now have grapefruit seed extract and vitamin E. Grapefruit seed extract is derived from the seeds and membrane portion of the grapefruit and is reputed to have effective broad spectrum anti-microbial properties. Vitamin E is also a natural preservative and known to play an important role in protecting skin cells and membranes from environmental damage. Hope you stop by to try these 2 improved moisturizers!

On Sunday, my lovely FEASt will be hosting its Annual Open Garden Day. This is a great opportunity to tour some of the edible gardens of St. John’s, share skills and discover new ways to grow food. Check the site or the Facebook event for more info and the necessary map! I can’t wait to show Samuel the other gardens havens in the neighbourhood.
And if after a visit to the Farmer’s Market and tour a few urban gardens you are feeling inspired but physically exhausted, why not kick back and watch the entire All Around the Table series? Put together by Food Security Network these short videos are about the personal food stories of 12 seniors from Eastern Newfoundland. It will surely awe you.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!
