Happy Wednesday folks!
It was another snowy weekend that prompted long and leisured kitchen spells. Breakfast meals were made and eaten through the day, bread was baked for the first time since Samuel was born, and the oranges from our indoor tree were finally made into marmalade.
The ground might be covered with snow, the skies might be grey, and the temperature might be in the single digits but for the home gardener it’s already spring. Garden planning has started in the household and this year it takes a whole new dimension with the little one old enough to stomp around the backyard. This means that our concrete-slab raised beds will need to be moved from the centre of the yard and rebuild with less injured-prone materials, compost bin, and a few shrubs will likely need to be relocated as well. For now, I am way too excited in organizing our seed stash and ordering a few new things. Are you planting anything exciting and new this year? My urban gardening indulgence of the season is ground cherries.
Have a wonderful week! Make it count.
